Well I've finished trimming the new doors. There are still several things I need to finish to really be "finished". This is the hard part of the project. There are some small pieces of trim along the floor that I had to remove in order to make room for the new door trim. These need to be replaced. I also need to fill in nail holes and caulk spaces between trim and doors. Caulk and paint are critical but horribly boring components of any project. Becky's probably holding her breath right now waiting to see how long my attention span lasts. I have a poor record. Some of my projects have been "finished" just as we prepare to sell the house. I get to hear about these examples pretty often.
Oh yea, I also need to make a trip to the dump. The rust red doors were my selection. The blue was in Josh's old room. I don't remember whether he picked it or whether one of the twins picked it. It didn't appeal to me.
We'd like to paint the inside of the house when we get our tax refund this year. We're having a tough time selecting paint. I lean more to bright green, yellow and red. Becky prefers light beige's. We're working towards a compromise but I want to stay at least dark enough to avoid all of the smudges on corners from three sets of grandkid hands (not to say that I haven't also seen footprints on walls). Becky let me choose last time but that won't happen again. She never liked the rust colored doors and trim.
Becky, Gina, Sherry, Cheyanne and Kikki are in the living room plotting. I wouldn't be surprised to see them dancing in a circle with flower wreaths in their hair.
Kikki's wearing a new dress and fancy silver shoes passed down from a friend of Chey's. She's quite pleased with the new outfit. Somehow the silver shoes have surpassed the clunky 3" cork high heels that she usually stumbles around the house in.
The garden is surviving the winter. We had a batch of mustard greens last week and used some green peppers and onions with chicken burritos. I chopped some hot peppers for myself. There's a bunch of wild swiss chard coming up from last year's seed.
I'm flying to Denver and back for a meeting on Tuesday. Taking on Denver has been a lot of work. There are several large projects in progress that I need to get up to speed on. Thankfully, there's not much going on in New Mexico at the moment.
Terry sent me an email saying that he's sent a box full of old slides for me to scan. It'll be fun to go through them. I'll post them on the web when I get done. He said that he was shocked by the price to ship them until he figured out that the shipping clerk misunderstood the destination. Someone in Liberia, West Africa would have been challenged to figure out a way to use them all. How do you get Liberia, West Africa from Mesa, Arizona?
That's all for now.
Adios
