This is more my speed at the Antique Plaza.
I think Becky's got her eye on that deer head. I'll keep it in mind for her birthday.
The downtown is really looking up. There's several cafes, galleries, shops, the Arizona Museum of Natural History, the Mesa Arts Center and the Nile Theater. I gotta admit, I still like the street sculptures too.
This one was also in the back of Sundust Gallery. If I only could get motivated to use my welder and scrounge up some old parts......
Adios
it's nice your getting some street Sculpures on the st. corners and some new little Cafe's.I remember the beautiful White ones in downtown Phonix when we were there longtime ago. They are trying to upgrade old 2nd st. Bonneyfiddle.slow process moneywise.Did Becky get to bring Deer head home? You good start welding some figures on the side and sell for who knows how much.I like all the news. LOve Mom
ReplyDeleteI love those metal sculptures made of old parts. My uncle is a great welder, and that's what he makes us all as Christmas presents, miniature versions. I prefer that over a pair of dress socks any day.
ReplyDeleteI bought a welder several years ago with the best intentions of becoming a great welder artist. That pretty much fell through.
ReplyDeleteI'll post my only creation since I can't seem to paste it in here.
At any rate, not only have I not used the welder but it's cost me $300. My wife and I were at Home Depot and she got sidetracked by a vacuum cleaner salesperson. They were selling some grand multicolored super vacuum. I said there was no way in hell I was spending $300 on a sweeper. However, I was very effectively countered by a smug reference to my unused welder. I didn't want that story loudly discussed in Home Depot so we have a $300 sweeper and an unused welder. Sigh.
